Shockwave Therapy In Saanichton

What is Shockwave Therapy?

*Shockwave is currently only offered at our Saanichton location*

Shockwave is a type of therapy that uses short, high-energy sound waves to stimulate healing and decrease pain in the body.

It is clinically proven to increase the bodies metabolic capacity to heal, making it a great alternative to surgeries and medical injections for injuries.

It is most often used to treat pain in the  lower back, neck, spine, tendons, and joints.

The sound waves are not audible to humans but can be painful when they hit your skin.

How Does Shockwave Work?

Shock wave therapy works by generating high-energy sound waves that pass through the skin and into the body. The waves are generated by a device called a shock wave generator which sends pulses of energy in short bursts through an electrode. These pulses create pressure waves on the surface of the skin which then travel deeper into the body.

These pulses generate vibrations that cause muscles to contract and relax at high speeds, which increases blood flow in these areas, stimulating new vessel growth, regeneration, and promoting tissue repair.
